Note: All the photos in this gallery were taken during a severe drought in the summer of 2023, when most Paluxy sites became largely dry, prompting me to organize another track project to expose and clean as many known and new tracks as possible. At the Ballroom, many volunteers and I were able to expose and clean over 500 tracks, including over 400 previously recorded tracks, and at least 100 new ones, including over a dozen new "baby" (or small species?) tracks.

For Ballroom photos from previous years, and a summary of the site, see Ballroom Menu (pre-2023).

Soon I will add more Ballroom photos from 2023, and integrate all Ballroom photos and illustrations (maps, video, etc) from 2003 and previous years into a single menu. Note that contrary to many news stories implying that the severe droughts of 2022 and 2023 "revealed" many new tracks in largely pristine condition in accompanying photos, in actually what droughts generally reveal is lot of sand, gravel, and mud covering or filling most tracks, so that exposing and cleaning them required a lot of long, hard work (often for weeks, under very hot and dirty conditions) by many workers and volunteers. Their names are too numerous to mention here, but I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of them. Special thanks is also due to the Dallas Paleontology Society, Texas Master Naturalists, and Friends of Dinosaur Valley State Park, whose members have often helped with track work, as well as gift shop manager Paul Baker for assisting in countless ways, and to the staff of Dinosaur Valley State park for their support and cooperation during these projects.
