How Old is This Temple

Variations of this story have been floating around for years. I don't know if its true or who first wrote or recorded it.

A group of tourists is traveling with a guide through a thick jungle when they come to the ruins of an ancient temple. Fascinated by the remarkable structure, one of the tourists asks the guide how old it is.

"1503 years old", replies the guide.

Impressed at this accurate dating, the tourist inquires as to how he arrived at such a precise figure.

"Easy", replies the guide, "I spoke to an archaeologist who said the temple was 1500 years old, and that was three years ago"
