Collection of 5 Beautiful Trilobite Fossils

(Auction winner gets all 5 trilobites)

Trilobites were a large group of prehistoric marine arthropods that thrived in ancient oceans long before dinosaurs appeared on earth. This auction features 5 well preserved trilobites (starting from the upper left in the photo below):

1. A prone (flat) Flexicalymene meeki on light-grey shale, Upper Ordovician (450 million years) Arnheim Formation , Mt. Orab, Ohio.
2. A large enrolled Flexicalymene meeki from the same site.
3. A light-tan Calymene celebra on matrix, from the Silurian (420 million years), Niagaran Limestone, Joliet Fm., Grafton, Illinois.
4. A Phacops rana, famous Silica Shale formation of NW Ohio, Devonian period, 380 million years (black fossil on dark grey matrix).
5. An Agnostus, a small, blind trilobite from the Cambrian of Utah, Approx 540 million years (brown fossil on tan siltstone).

All these trilobites are largely complete (except for tiny imperfections). The Phacops rana shows beautifully detailed eye facets; one of the features that make this species highly prized. See ruler in large photo for scale. Below the large photo are close-ups of the individual specimens. All come with complete Identification labels. These would make great additions to any fossil collection. Low starting bid and no reserve. Buyer to pay $4.50 shipping in the United States.
