This auction features two attractive, cut and polished slabs of dinosaur coprolite (fossil poop) from the Jurassic Period of southern Utah, approx. 145 million years old. See ruler in the photos for scale (each slab is about 1/4 inch thick. Coprolites are a type of "trace fossil" and by studying the content of coprolites scientists can get clues about the diets of prehistoric creatures. The original organic material of the fossilized droppings has been entirely replaced with minerals, so they they are now stonelike, odor free, and perfectly safe to handle.
